Registered Practical Nurse (Arthur/Fergus)

About the Opportunity

Caressant Care is seeking an RPN to join our accomplished team , the role will be split between two of our Retirement Home Locations (Arthur and Fergus) Ontario. 

Reporting to the Retirement Home Managers, you will co-ordinate services for our residents, ensuring quality resident care and compliance with physicians' orders as well as corporate and government policies. In addition, this position assists with supervising nursing services, monitoring infections, liaising with Public Health, auditing of nursing processes and other duties as assigned.

 Duties of this position include: 

• Contribute to the development and support of, and adheres to Caressant Care philosophy, standards, policies, and procedures. 

• Actively participate on the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and other committees as assigned. 

• All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed. 

• Other duties as assigned based on emerging and changing organizational and program priorities.

 SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

1. Current Ontario Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse Certificate of Competence.
2. Minimum of three (3) years experience in geriatrics and Infection Prevention and Control in a health care setting.
3. Demonstrated leadership, teaching, critical thinking and administrative ability.
4. Working knowledge of the Compliance Management Program and Quality Improvement tools and techniques.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and computer skills).
6. Familiar with regulations pertaining to WHMIS and able to successfully complete the WHMIS test.

This is a full-time permanent position 37.5 hours per week split between too locations Fergus and Arthur.  Wage is $24.75-$25.52 depending on experience.

The successful candidate will require a current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
