Attending Physician

Caressant Care is seeking an Attending Physician to support residents at our Long Term Care Home in Bourget, ON 

 In collaboration with the leadership of the home and its clinical team, the Attending Physician will provide expertise and advice in relation to our medical services program with key accountabilities:  

• Regularly attend the Care Community
• Accountable to the Medical Director for meeting the Home policies, standards, and protocols of medical care
• Access, plan, implement and evaluate the residents medical care, develop a medical plan of treatment for the resident and participate in the interdisciplinary approach to care
• Document on the resident’s electronic health record upon admission and upon each subsequent visit with the resident where medical services are provided to maintain continuity and ongoing evaluation of all medical services as these related to clinical diagnosis.
• Provide or make arrangements for reasonable on call coverage for residents for whom he or she provides medical care
• IPAC awareness and leadership
• Develop quality of care standards in conjunction with the Care Community and interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

• Attending Physician licensed to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario and at all times be a member in good standing of the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
• Experience working in Long Term Care or as an Attending Physician preferred
• Ability to build trust, adapt, provide coaching, facilitate change and continually improve resident care
• Ability to interact with staff, residents, families, external partners
