Environmental Services Supervisor (Lindsay RH)

About the Opportunity

Caressant Care is currently seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor for our 93-bed Retirement home in Lindsay, Ontario. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the housekeeping and maintenance department to achieve high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. The Environmental Services Supervisor will ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety, fire safety standards, security and infection control. The Environmental Services Supervisor will perform routine and preventative maintenance of the facility, repairs and servicing and assisting with cleaning operations, to maintain a clean and safe environment.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

1. Secondary School graduation with post-secondary training in a relevant program of study
2. At least two years of experience in a supervisory position
3. Previous experience in a facilities management or a supervisory role in a continuous operation, preferably in the health or human services sector
4. Able to self-manage, organize priorities and handle competing demands effectively
5. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively with people
6. Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing and carpentry
7. Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions in English
8. Ability to read and interpret manuals related to equipment and safety
9. Must be able to stop, lift and carry items of various weights
10. Previous experience in a unionized workplace is considered an asset

This is a full-time permanent position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
